CVC Capital Buys Douglas

The private equity firm is buying the cosmetics retailer.

CVC PArtners, a private quity firm, is buying the German cosmetics retailer Douglas.

Douglas is currently owned by private-equity firm Advent International and the Kreke family, and it is  is being bought by a holding company jointly owned by CVC and the family, who will maintain a 15% stake, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Douglas has been roughly valued at $3.1 billion. The company had plans for an IPO, but the sale changes this strategy.
